Well, this is all getting out of hand, isn't it?

Maybe his life got in the way, maybe something else. We're all a bit upset over it, it's a bit of a disappointment but it's really not something the lynch mob should be preparing their ropes for.

The Secret Santa is all in the festive spirit and such, but this reaction is way over the top and not in the spirit of the Secret Santa and Christmas at all.

Yeah, the situation ***** but myself and quattrojon have taken it into our own hands (and wallets) to sort it out and try to make up for it as much as we can, on my part as the organizer.

Why anyone is poking fun at his girlfriend is beyond me, don't drag her into this. It isn't fair and it's totally disrespectful. There's no reason to involve her. Anyone who has made negative comments about her, please remove them. It's out of order to do that ****.

Let's drop it for now until we know a little more of what's going on with 06wt. Personally, with everything else going on in my life right now i'm getting pretty pissed off about this, i'm trying to fix it and some of you want to grab pitch forks and torches and burn the guy at the stake.

Naming the person publicly and getting the pitch forks out are not the same thing. So far, he's been named, that's it. Moose, who ran this thing this year, is calling for calm. I, a mod, am asking for a limited response. Bry@n, the one who got shafted, is taking a reasonable stance.

So, for the people managing this affair on the site, and the ones who will make the call, no one is taking an overly aggressive tone.

I think that an adjustment to the rules next year would be in order. Some sort of note under the user name if the person flakes. Like was suggested.

IMO this has turned into a witch hunt, yes the gift did not make it to bry@n. And other members have been kind enough to offer gift/s just to make amends. But remember there are TWO SIDES TO EVERY STORY, this matter could have been better dealt with. We are all adults here, insulting his lady is just wrong. Just my two cents. This was suppose to be a nice way to share the holiday spirit among us, I see how ugly its become. Sorry if I have offended anyone.

To All: I am going to lock this for now. bmwpower can unlock it when he has a chance to see it and wants to weigh in. Don't be surprised if there is a lot of pruning of posts in here, and don't take it personally. Just saying.

We're not going to ban him - that was not part of the deal ahead of time. Rules will be put in place next time, which may or may not include banning if someone fails to come through.
