I was recording some serial numbers (in the event of theft) in the garage and thought I'd also record my Porter Cable 20V cordless tools. Only takes a minute to jot them down. Anyway noticed none of my PC tools actually have a serial number on them. Seems odd - am I just somehow missing something?
So no serial numbers on Porter Cable tools?

PC serial # ???? My PC biscuit jointer has one. But it’s older ..one of the good ones
Also have 3 PC nail/brad/staple guns old circa 2000, very functional with no serial numbers to be seen.
Side bar: If was taking inventory…………I would be taking pictures. Storage on the phone or iPad or the cloud for future reference and safe storage. irregardless of the perceived value.

The older PC tools had serial numbers, and the factory could tell you when it was made. But i think they lost a lot of files when they moved to another city, or had a fire.

My pneumatic nail guns circa 2001 all have serial numbers, my more recent heat gun does not. Never found one on my compressor, tho its the same age as the guns. May need to look harder, as it should.

Some cordless tool manufacturers put the serial number in or near the battery mounting point.
At least I know Bosch does this, since I’ve tried checking the COO of Bosch tools at Lowes, and this is were I usually find it.
