I still owe the guy money and he hasnt come.I want to do business with him.when he comes im gonna talk to him because I need somebody who is consistent.maybe he is busy but when I drive home I see his truck around town.I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.i'll see what he says when I see him.since I needed tools I gave my matco guy my business because he comes every week and if hes not going to show up, he lets you know.now i'm $700 in debt with matco, but I got some pretty nice tools :thumbup:does anyone have similar experiences?

In my opinion i'm the only one who deals with him in my shop and everybody else uses him for warranty..thats the only thing I could come up with.

Yeah.. Dunno. I would think the fact that you owe him money would make him come around. Im in the Opposite position.. I have 2k worth of completed Hydraulics sitting in the shop, Waiting for the Owners to show up. Good Luck.. Its not a bad thing to spread the wealth around thru different dealers/Vendors.

Don't worry. Snap-on has great customer service and even better tools. That's why they're so expensive. To pay for the customer service. If/when the guy shows up again, I'm sure he'll make it right.

Be careful, if your Snap-On guy disappears, your debt DOES NOT.

You don't want to get credit rating damage by forgetting about it.

But if he can't get a hold of him, how is he going to pay?

Back in the days they didn't even write down credit card numbers.

I would think if you owe the guy money and all you get is his voice mail there may be something wrong. I would think if he was able to he would at least answer his phone if you owe him money. Maybe one of the dealers on here will be able to give you some more info. Might want to call the regional manager and see what he says.

After about 2 months of phone calls & emails, I finally got our SO guy to service our shop. I started out with some friendly calls to him and SO customer service. Long story short, after no response from the SO guy, I made some nasty calls to the Regional SO rep., and SO Customer Service. Also sent SO Cust. Serv. an email informing them that I was a member of a "very popular tool forum"" , and included a copy of a rant that I had posted here on GJ several months ago. I'm not sure exactly what got their attention, but he showed up a few days later (about 4 monthhs ago), and has been faithfully stopping by every week since then.

After all the bs, I was really expecting to not like the guy, but honestly he's one of the best tool guys that I've dealt with in my 20+ years of turning wrenches.

I hadn't seen my guy in a few weeks, the old Snappy is retiring and they are in the process of training the new guy. Now that we have a new guy to break in, what should we do first, grease his door handles or block his truck wheels? :)

if your debt it threw him, i wouldnt worry to much, if its so-credit, call them to make payments. ive never had a problem with so, mac and ********, yes. matco at the shop im at now is pretty reliable, and he actually hands out the monthly fliers, some of those deals get my business for sure.

Better than not having a Mac dealer for 2+ years. So I started to build my Snap-On collection slowly. Plus our dealer shows up to the aircraft hangar every Monday.

This is one of those situations where the tool guy can screw your credit without trying to. I had a guy in my shop years ago the owed Snap On quite a bit of money (the owner/driver not on corp. paper) and he disappeared. My guy try contacting the guy and he not obtainable. He tried calling Snap On an they said a new guy would be around soon. Blah blah blah....no new guy for a long time, several calls to Snap On who assured the new guy would be there .....nothing. Next thing I know the guy is gets court papers from Snap On being sued for non-payment on his account. The driver defaulted on his Snap On account so Snap On took all his owed paper and just sent it all to court because the driver neglected to tell them it was his fault for not stopping to get payments. Long story short, stay after someone to get payments made....it will bite you in the *** if you don't....

We just went through another s-o man. They haven't made it more than a year after our old guy died over ten years ago. They hire people that have zero idea what a tool is then probably laugh when they fail because s-o aways makes money in the end after putting him out. Once again broken tools and a hastle to get fixed and people on here ***** about SK having to be sent in I see no difference other than cost.

We had that problem with our mac dealer. He was always real sketchy anyways but one day he just stopped showing up. His truck was the first tool truck I stepped onto and I didn't buy a thing from him because he was too pushy.

I know he was in the business of selling tools but the SO guy didn't push me and he now gets my money.

JWink that is hot it is done. if you try and cram stuff down their throats they push you away. being nice and easy about stuff really works well for me. I get more repeat business this way.

yep, that's what my guy is like with me. I go on and he just stands back and lets me browse and answers any questions i have and looks up prices if he doesn't know them off hand. no hurries, no rush. Just the way I like it!

According to a few mechanics I've talked to that buy from him, he's very good about showing up at his stops on time every time which makes his payment schedule something the customers can depend on. I don't make payments but he's usually at the place i meet him at on Fridays inside of a 5-10 minute window every time. If he's going to be away (like he is now) he gives you lots of notice.

hope the OP gets his issue straightened out. The driver screwing up could have catastrophic effects on your credit without him even knowing about it.
