From an estate sale from a guy who appeared to be once a pro mechanic

12v power - Two of the pins used and the switch is momentarily moves in two directions

looks like its a home made specialty tool of sorts to test a component or something along those lines

It is a controller for gm idle air control valves. Mostly for tbi fueled systems.

You could sort of control an idle with them. If you were cleaning injectors you could boost the idle up. If you needed to set minimum idle speed, you could close the air passage and set the idle screw.

Have a few of them, but haven't used one in a long time.

doubt if home made, more likely an old Thexton tool from the old feedback carb early TBI days. I'm not sure if it's for IAC valves though because, i remember those testers having a roller switch for increasing rpm instead of a simple on/off switch. I could be wrong as it has been many years :dunno: :beer:

the switch is self centering and momentarily moves one way or the other, if this helps
