Bought a set of 7 SO metric Flank Drive Plus wrenches on the SO truck today for $100.70. That's $95 off. Dealer said it's a deal SO is offering. Only $20 off on website.

Can Shaun or Chad chime in? Is this only for the 7 piece set, or is it on all FDP wrenches? How long will it last? Thanks for the heads up. I need these in metric still.

summer time blow out sales are starting I just had 5 sets show up tonight. 99.95 each
soexm707 summer blowout sales are going to happen every week for my region. Not sure about the rest of the regions and each dealer had to sign up to participate. They are not automatically in the program. my customers are happy to see the summer deals

I rarely use metric but all of our new trucks are metric. I figured I couildn't pass up on that deal. My dealer had to buy 5 to sell them for that price. He is selling them for far less than he normally buys them for. Sounds like SO is making some money.

Or they got stock to move

Dealers make 30% on list price. So if dealers are now selling tools for far less money than they normally but them for, SO had to be making a killing. These wrenches normally cost my dealer about $140. Not he's buying them for $70. I'm sure SO is still making a profit at $70.

I got my 5 sets in as well at $99.95. Each dealer that signed up gets a limited quantity of these $99.95 deals. Its only on the 7 pc metric set and not available online.

snap on offered us 99$ deals last year and I loved it. sold the **** out of 1/2 drive extensions.
many other items to come. make sure you talk to your dealer as he may only get 5 of each item each week or so......
flank drive plus has teeth that engage the fastener more than our flank drive wrenches do. the edges of the flank are grooved. they will pull out a rounded nut or bolt when a regular wrench slips

Thanks for the info. I'm not a professional by any means, but something to look into.

That is a smoking deal. I would imagine the dealers try to reserve those deals for their best customers as a way of saying thanks. I know I would.

Chad and Shaun, thanks for giving us the inside scoop time and time again.

Not necessarily. This promotion will likely result in a higher, guaranteed, sales volume. This allows SO to make a large production run which will lower unit cost. Not having the product stuck in inventory also reduces "cost" somewhat.

Don't take the above as a defense of SO's pricing policies. Wouldn't take much for me to go on a rant about that.

start comparing prices and you will see MAC and matco have definitly moved ahead of us on lots of items.
there are dedicated people in snap on that all they do is watch the price market.

more deals are soon to come.

I wouldn't consider buying Mac or Matco products for 2 reasons.:
1. Matco hasn't had a dealer in my area for about 2 years so I couldn't warranty anything and Mac has a new dealer about once a year so it may be a while before I could warranty something if needed.
2. Have never seen any Matco tools but what I have seen of Mac was comparable to Wal Mart tools.

What I meant by overpriced was how they could all of a sudden sell for 50% off. Doesn't seem like they would do that for the heck of it. I can't see that why they would do that. They're not struggling. If they can sell them for 50% now, whay can't that do that all the time. :bounce: There would be a lot more tools sold. I know I'd buy a lot more. I already buy a lot now.

Either way. Wasn't trying to start a war but it looks like I did. Until the price gets too far out of hand, I'll keep buying SO tools.

a deal is a deal. no matter where it comes from. especially nationwide off of the truck..
my customers wouldnt think anything of it. " the snap on man hooked me up" I like that phrase coming from my customers.

Off topic but I like your attitude and helpfulness on GJ. I load out of Fort Hood all the time. Next time I'm sitting at the rail head waiting with 50 trucks in front of me I'll email you. I'm sure you'll have something I need.

I happened to catch my SO guy Friday. He normally comes to my shop on Mondays but saw him elsewhere so I stopped. I walked in to work Friday with those wrenches and was bragging him all up. He certainly did hook me up.

My new Snappy dealer doesn't have any promo stuff. Asked about the grey father's day ratcheting screwdriver and he didn't know anything about it. I hope he's getting on board with these specials but I doubt it.

Thanx for the info, Jim. I saw a SO truck drive by yesturday, and I followed him into a service center. Ran up to the truck, and he told me he would call me today. He called me up and I picked up the wrenches. Thanx again.

THANKS A LOT!!!!!! I texted the snap on dealer as soon as I read this post. Today he dropped of the wrenches. He said he only received 5 sets and had sold 4 when he read my text.
Of course I love/hate that truck sometimes. In addition to the wrenches I bought a $18 chamois and a $150 prybar set.

Wonder why my Dealer has them for $125 and not $99.

hmmmmm...

Snap-on runs different promotions in different parts of the country. Shaun and I are in the same region and we usually get the same deals. Also, to get this deal, we had to commit to buying more than just 5 sets of wrenches.

Ahhh gotcha. I still picked them up, though.

Thanks to you I now have a set of these on their way to me. Guess I've popped my Snap-On cherry. These will be my first Snap-On tools.
