My life has been spent in apartments, only once have I ever had a garage, so when we found our new place while house hunting it was a no brainer. It had a 4 car garage, i didn't even look out the house, just told the wife if she liked it and the garage was real, buy it.
That was 3 years ago, it had a sound studio type room built in half the garage, which i started taking out on day 2 in the house. The garage was half finished, but the drywall/taping was poor, and there was no electrical either.
Took a few years to fund it, but we started April'ish and slowly coming to an end on most of it now. Here are some pics along the way.
starting the flooring
floors done
cabinets arrived a bit early
old drywall down, cabinets mocked up
ran a 100amp sub box and wiring, living room is on the other side of the wall and wanted to put media stuff in garage. also running speaker/internet/projector wiring incase needed down the line.
anchoring the lift in back
son testing out his new play area
I roughed in a door to the house that i'm finishing today. Though still need to frame the stairs. Front of the garage w/attic space isn't drywalled yet as I'm looking to add an attic ladder which will need some modifying up top. Down the line looking to move the washer/dryer into the house so they don't take space in there, as there is plenty of room, two cars side by side up front is tight with them there.
there it is, still need a lot of organizing, which is harder than i thought it would be to decide the "right" spot for everything. And finally paint.
