I'm try to fill my socket tray and OCD says that I have to fill all the holes but the one thing I'm stuck on is finding a 1/4 female x 1/2 male adapter I've been looking and I have yet to find one

Press a bit of 3/8 x1/16 tube into a 3/8-1/2 adapter.

I have a set from someone else that are thinner and only change one size. They can be stack on one another and stay relativity slim on top of the drive tool.

Other than your OCD (nothing wrong with OCD; many fine tools have been purchased simply to scratch that deep brain itch), I'm very curious as to why such a thing would need to exist.

Not sure if I still have one, but when I was actively doing electronic repair, came in handy. Lots of larger nuts and threaded bushings that didn't require large amounts of torque, many times in limited access spaces.

Could be handy on rare occasions, On my 2wd F250 the hub nut get final torqued to 18in lbs with a 1/2dr size socket. no space restriction though so stacking adapters works.
The sleeve type adapters are nice to have as well.

Setting preload on a pinion if your inchLb torque wrench is 1/4" drive. I've had occasions where it's been nice to only have one adapter but stacking a couple isn't the end of the world.

wouldn't a 1/2 thumbwheel ratchet accomplish the same thing, or a stubby 3/8 ratchet?

I have a actual use for that adapter, most motorcycle steering stem nuts use a incredibly low torque setting usually in the 4 to 8ft/lb range. The steering stem nuts are normally around the 27mm size, you torque them to the 40-50ft/lb range to seat the bearings then back it off and final toque in the 4-8ft/lb area.

Ya do know there's alternates to 1/4" rats that might save you a step. This 3/8" Wright 3430 is about as small as the smaller 1/4" rats.
Now if only I could find me a 3/8" to 3/4" adapter
I use my 4 1/2" Snap-On ratchet with the 1/4" to 3/8" sleeve. It's only been on a rare occasion since I have 5/8" and 15mm 1/4" drive sockets.
These are only 1/8" thick. Adding all three is only 3/8" when going from 1/4" drive to 3/4".

I've seen those before but I can't recall who makes them. Obvious it's the only way to get a 3" socket spinning with limited space, mine would never work
Maybe this looks better.
40" 3/4" breaker reduced down to a 1/8" socket.
A couple months back I bought a new 1/2" drive GW impact set because it had both an 8&9mm impact socket, where as my other set only went down to 10.

I think my 1/4" dr 1/8" socket is either a Craftsman or Armstrong. Plenty of other brands make them as well. Finding a 3/8" dr 1/8" socket sounds like a challenge unless it's a hex drive bit socket.

I stack two adapters when My 1/4" drive inch pound dial torque wrench is mated to a 1/2" drive socket when adjusting the injectors on the Cummins diesel engine. Not that I need it, but I would certainly use a 1/4"F to 1/2"M adapter with good detents if I had one.
