socket and wrench portable storage

ok, so i use a standard 20" (i believe) awp bag for work, it's fully loaded, i dont carry it, i cart it around, full of everything you can imagine, but i do leave half or more of the wrench sizes i don't commonly need in my larger roll box.

what i am looking for is a way to organize/carry my socket sets and wrench sets (or lack of set?) with me without just throwing it in a specific pocket/pouch.

currently i just have wrenches seperated by metric and standard but grabbing for a wrench while looking down i tend to have to grab 3-4 wrenches of similar size to find the right one. and i just use the socket rails that they came on.

wondering if anyone has seen anything nifty/handy for someone who carries quite a few tools around daily, and needs to organize and store them neatly and efficiently.

In my toolbag that stays in my truck, but gets used frequently. I use wrench rolls for the wrenches and for the sockets, I just use normal socket rails that I have cut down to more easily fit in the bag.

It's not an ideal solution, but it keeps me from having to dig through my bag to find specific sockets or wrenches.

the problem i have is there isn't always room to lay a wrench roll out to get to the wrench that is at the very end of the roll. and socket rails tend to lose sockets if you have to stuff them into a stand up tool bag packed with other tools.

wrench roll and possibly magnetic socket organizers, the red ones. other than that i cant help you. with the wrench rolls, you dont really have to lay them down, you can hold with one hand and have access to them all, with out laying it down. im assuming you are using standard wrench set sizes up to 19mm or so, as your bag is not very big. wrench roll seems to be the only feasible solution for a bag scenario

if a wrench roll isnt gonna work, i think you probably arent gonna find anything else that will work better.

I will often put a bunch of wrenches and or sockets on a zip tie. Cut to use. New tie when job is finished.

Facom sorted the wrench problem-

These are fantastic and worth buying just for the holder. Just grab the whole set and go. Wrenches are all held firmly and the set folds up to make it compact.

They also sell ratcheting wrench, flex and stubby wrench sets in similar holders.

I think Mac also sells these with their name stuck on.

I've got enough cheap sets of sockets I can use one in its cheap rubber sleeve type holder. Most of the time though I drop my GearDriver set in the bag and just deal with the added size and weight.

Get an top tool cab and fasten it to a luggage cart, or small set of hand trucks. I've seen a few guys do that. Or you can buy these pre-fabbed, but they're high dollar. Kobalt used to make one, if I remember correctly, but it seems they've been phased out.
