Hi everyone. Long-time lurker and finally decided to join forum to ask everyone what this tool is.

It's been in my toolbox for 15+ years and can't remember if I got it from a garage sale with a bunch of other tools.

It looks like it goes into an socket wrench and holds some type of driver with spring and tension with a ring of metal balls. :D

Thanks in advance.

Is there a bit in it? With the spring plunger it kind of looks like a drywall screw setter attachment for a drill.

I'd like to know too. I really want to say my mom had the same chuck in her grab bag of household tools. This would have been in the late 80s or early 90s.

Larryjones is correct. I used to have one and it didn't work very well. One of those Christmas/Father's Day TV gifts.

Thanks all. I could see how it wouldn't work very well. The tension is not very strong to hold a hex bit or any type of screw.
