I noticed a few things about socket extension kneeling as I’m looking to upgrade my extensions I got.

koken got knurling on the closest point

most others got knurl on the shaft

i also noticed on big extensions that are very long most places don’t put any knurl. I guess they think it’s gonna be too heavy to turn by thumb at that size idk

what do you guys think about knurling options? i never used them but koken looks the sweetest. I think closest to the end is best so you can turn it with your thumb easier without reaching. But koken dont seem to offer a regular wobble extension just there wobble plus that I hear not so great things about. I’d rather just one set of wobble and one set of straight.

Not sure about that, just makes it harder to clean. If required I can use a 1/4" handle, looks like a screwdriver with male square as business end and there are adapters to 3/8" and 1/2".

Ko-ken's knurling is impressive, but they don't offer it on their locking or Zeal extensions :wtf:

MAC was probably the first manufacturer to knurling where it's needed most, around the female square drive end along some more a few inches down the extension shaft depending on overall length.

Sonic and others offer a hex shaped top of the extension which allows you to use a ratcheting wrench in close quarters and is easy to spin with your fingers.

I don't think I have chrome extensions without knurling.

honestly I don’t own any MAC tools but there my second fav tool truck company. Just on paper it seems like snap on is best and most likely be around longest. Stanley owns MAC so I think they’ll be around. I think Cornwell is most likely to go under first. And Matco I wouldn’t trust. I read the threads it sounds like tool trucks are dying. And your overpaying for tool truck brands except for warranty and service.

so honestly I would just stick to snap on or MAC but I haven’t been in the tool game as long as you guys. Knowing MAC makes good extensions I’ll check them out.

Tekton got a nice variety of extensions with knurling too.
