I'm looking to buy a long socket extension and I am looking at sk and Armstrong the Armstrong is more expensive though I was wondering whether there was much difference in them. Also I'm looking at socket adapters specifically 1/2 fe - 3/8 ma what are good things to look out for in them.

Think both SK and Armstrong are good quality....as for the daptor, just get a good adaptor like the SK or Armstrong.

SK! They will have better chrome than the Armstrong stuff, and certainly will be just as strong (if not stronger actually...).

I prefer the Armstrongs over the SKs. Especially when it comes to locking extenstions. I purchased some SK 1/2" extensions and the locks on those were HUGE. They also didn't do a very good job holding on to any sockets that weren't made by SK. I've never had a problem with my Armstrong extensions (locking or otherwise). I prefer the feel of the knurls on the Armstrongs, but that's probably a subjective thing. I think the Armstrongs are worth the extra few bucks.

To throw another brand in the mix I would check out Proto. I prefer the knurling on my Proto extensions more so then the knurling on my Snap on extensions.
