Hey everyone. I was sorting thru some sockets I received and came across two with out any makers marks. They have size and “Made in USA” stamped in them. Anyone recognize them?

Dang. I didn’t want to keep any Oxwall tools and I seem to have a box of sockets. Thanks for the correct ID. Those sockets have to go. 🤬

If you're seing me Oxwall, then for sure yeah. It looks like I've got a zip-lock bag full of "orphan" Oxwall sockets.

How do I return the favor? ;)

hey quick question... was Sherman-Klove the ONLY company that made a 1/4" breaker with a 5/16" diameter hole for a cross bar?

I've already got all four of those boxes in your box. I think that breaker at far left is an S-K, and I don't have any early S-K here. Any idea who made the breaker second from left? (I need a better photo.) No clue why I have HWI branded stuff... probably came in a Thorsen set.
I keep finding oddball stuff jammed into 1/4" set boxes.

The unmarked breaker next to the one on the left looks like maybe an unmarked Plomb 4766? Just guessin’IMG_5124.jpeg
The breaker on the left is certainly a wartime S-K. IMG_5525.jpeg
I might be interested in the Firestone set.

I'm gonna say with conviction that the top two pictured are Oxwall sockets. I compared those pics to my known Oxwall's, the two lines (=) on both sides of the USA and the socket size are a dead giveaway for Oxwall.

OK, in the G.M. sockets that don't have the knurling, I think I've got one 1-4" socket that matches but, do yours have the U.S.A spelling with the two decimal points?

No. None of my G.M. sockets have a period between "U" and "S" and "A". it is stamped " U S A " (without the periods)
That may or may not be an indicator of anything, though, as G.M. obviously produced different sockets over the course of their operations. (Knurling/no knurling.)

You may have an Oxwall there...

It doesn't have the =USA= markings that my other Oxwall sockets have and the size reads 1-4 as opposed to 1/4

could very well BE a different production run of G.M.
I only have ONE G.M set - shown above.
It's clear from looking at other sets (posted here) that they were not consistent with their markings: knurl/no knurl.
It's not too far a stretch to think they might have used both " U S A " and " U.S.A. " at different times.
A broader sampling would be the only way to definitively ascertain that.

If I can remember I'll look at my Oxwall, which I seem to have plenty.

So, while we're all in here trying to identify varying sockets...any ideas on these marked FM? Another post summarizes they may be from ForgeMaster but I find their stuff to be marked Taiwan, not USA...1000023645.jpg

^ As with many other brands, it appears that perhaps "Forge Master" was originally made in the US and then later was outsourced offshore.
