Wife drug me down to my first ever Church "Rummage sale", as she didn't want to go alone.
Never having been to one before I had visions of piles of old clothes, broken coffee makers, x-mas decorations and being staffed by little old ladys. I soon realized that 1) I was the oldest person there, and only guy and 2) they had some tools.
Mostly it was alot of summer yard tools and 99% china ****, I did find some socket sets though.
1) monkey wards Wright set complete and barely used
2) Sparta set missing 1/4 socket. I'm not familiar with this brand but it's all marked USA and seems to be of sufficient quality.
3) Proto los angeles, looks to be missing 1/2 and 9/16 sockets i think. I haven't tried looking up the set though and see whats supposed to be there. Very happy nonetheless.
Paid 10 for the first set and since the last 2 were missing sockets the ********* taking the money let me have them for 5 each.
Cant wait to check out the next rummage sale.

Score! Let's hear it for the church rummage sale for once!

They always seem to be clothes, toys, decorations and household.

Only thing is since it was your first now I bet you're hooked. :)

I have a lot of extra tools all over my garage. My girlfriend made me get a couple of tables at a church rummage sale. I put an ad on CL a week before hand. You wouldn't believe how many folks stopped by and said I was the first person to have tools there. I did sell a surprisingly large amount of tools there. I've started too like church rummage sales.

Ken, send me a reminder next time. I think I remember a church sale a while back that said tools, but the repeat horror of old VHS exercise tapes, previously loved Beanie Babies, and missing pieces jigsaw puzzles must have rushed in and caused a mental block.
