lookin at buying a new 3/8 socket set looking at either the wera zyklop or a stahlwille set.

i like the look of the zyklop but as i will be using on a daily basis one i have a full time job i need something that will last. the plastic on the zyklop worries me abit.

i like snap on but i dont really have that sort of money and i dont see much of a quality diff between snap on and stahlwille

The price of all three are close. find out which can give you the best service

I mainly use snap on stuff, but half my 1/2 stuff is stahlwille. It's every bit as good as snap on, and very nice to use. It's not as shiney but that somewhat adds to it's appeal. My vote is for stahlwille.

i assume thats machester UK because stahlwille is about the same price as retail snap-on in the states.

yeah im in UK, snap on seems much dearer than anything here

Being in the UK makes a big differance because of the availability. You may also want to look into Hazet. I don't own many but from what I hear they are excellant and super strong.

I had the same decision to make a month ago. After looking at Stahlwille, Hazet and Nepros, I decided on Nepros. I have not looked back. They are brilliant tools (made in Japan) and IMO better than Snap On (of which are most likely made in China now), at least my Snap On FX-80 is!!

Edit: You can see what other GJers think about Nepros here: http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=65409

Buy a used set of top quality sockets. Brand of your choice, but with top grade sockets, especially in 3/8, used should be as good as new and much cheaper.
