Anybody seen these before...

or maybe have one


I have several different BT speakers right now a Monster Superstar and Altec Lansing H20 I picked up for deep discounts at the flea mkt where I spend my summer weekends. Also have the Milwaukee 2592-20 and that is still my favorite . Simply very tough. As for sound quality some love it and some hate it. And of course there is new very large and very expensive new Milwaukee BT speaker coming out later this month.

Of those first 3 the Monster is loudest but think the most susceptible to jobsite damage because of the unscreened radiators. The H20 is fairly rugged and somewhat water resistant but not very loud. I like it has threaded 1/4 x 20 insert I can securely bolt it down with (like on my tractor)

And while back NAPA had offered a limited edition one available too I had looked at. I think they maybe all gone now dunno.

So anyways stumbled across the Sunex Socket Speaker at ACME today. And did some searching online hoping to finds a video ,no luck there but did see for sale at several other places for around $50 (and as high $62 one place)

And from the photos I've seen it also looks like the base is magnetic so it will stick to your tool cart/tool box or other metal work surface.

Interesting and kinda neat plus one can get an additional 17% off at ACME for the rest of today Jan 02/2017 and that could negate much of the additional shipping cost.

Just figured I would turn Sunex tool fans onto it if you didn't already know about it. I hadn't seen it before today.

I'm curious who made it looks similar in shape to some other can style BT
speakers.

Quick update

I had this little speaker stuck to the face of my top chest just below the lid by the built in magnet (like in the first picture) Been there for while too but today I had dig something out the top storage area and I accidently hit it with my arm when backed off my step Geez it dropped, bounced off a floor jack, hit the concrete floor next and ended up under the lower cabinet. When I retrieved it I figured it would be damaged somehow...

but it survived amazingly well

Nothing broke and no visual damage. Wiped it down with some glass cleaner on a rag and just put thru all motions, charging pairing, checked all functions, button controls and LED lights all good.

Much more rugged than I would have ever expected

How's the sound? And does it get REALLY loud? Bc I have one from the store "five below" and while it's ok for the price, it doesn't seem to get as loud as I want it too.

My take...the sound is clear and plenty loud enough for personal use. Not exceptional but just average. No heavy bass or nothing like that though it will vibrate on the hard table top without something under like a magazine. More highs but not real hollow or too tinny like some others. It is the size of real 2" deep impact socket and is OK in the garage when I'm working alone but no where as loud as 2592 Milwaukee BT.

I do like a bit more in my living space. It also has FM mode I didn't realize that right away and it seems that the combo charge aux. cord works as the antenna. Without it attached I don't get anything but static. lol!

I still stand by my original observations on the others I have. The Monster is much louder with very good sound. The Altec Lansing H20 not as loud as the monster or Milwaukee but its very rugged. I like them fairly unbreakable and am real happy with first Milwaukee speaker. Especially like replaceable rechargeable batteries over built in ones. I don't really get some of the poor reviews on that Milwaukee. Guess it should be cheaper in price but I only paid $40 for mine. And maybe its more dependent on the type of music one listens to also. Should anybody really expect boom box sound from some of these little guys I dunno.

I do know there are some real good speakers out there from a sound quality standpoint but I cant say if their like really jobsite/workshop compatible or could risk getting knocked around.

I recently received the new Milwaukee 2891 BT (I had pre order on) now that is loud!

I have seen these on Acme and I keep telling myself that I do not need anymore sockets etc to qualify for the speaker. I purchased a green Premium tool cart like the one in your post but the speaker offer was not offered in January. Maybe I should purchase an Orange or Blue cart like yours so I can get the speaker ...........
