Im helping my gf in a tool booth she runs at the simpsonville flea market. She has a bunch of old proto, plumb, wright,sk,williams, armstrong and blackhawk sockets. Not to mention the occasional new brittain, p&c, chalkanger and fleet. How would you price these sockets by drive and size?
1/4 deep,shallow same for 3/8 and 1/2.

In my area (Western PA) there doesn't appear to be any difference in price according to size until you get over 1/2". The difference appears related to brand with Plvmb and Snap-on bringing the premium prices. The last couple sockets I found were Snap-on and I paid $5 for each.

I see them in the pawn shops, the only difference is usa made or import and then any thing over 1 inch is a little more and they have bins full to dig through.

The bins of sockets at pawn shops around here are $1 to $3 each depending on size. Brand is of little significance. Price a socket at $5 and you will drag it around for eternity.

I was thinking about the same as Brian, possibly double his prices at the upper limit. Depends on what I see on top, and how much time I have to dig.

25¢ or 6/$1 for Chinese or no name imports regardless of size to clear them out.
50¢ each for lower brand sockets.
$1 to $2 each depending on size and condition for premium brand sockets. ( SK, Williams, Proto, etc.)
$2.50 to $3 each depending on size and condition for premium truck brand sockets. (SnapOn, MAC, Matco, Cornwell.)

Offer discounts for bulk purchases and put together sets at a slight discount.

Red not sure your location. Most sockets I see at flea markets are $1 unless buying a handfull, doesn't matter the size or make unless: Snap-On $2 and anything over 1/2" is obviously more - $3-5.
If you can complete a set in any size you can probably get $2 per socket as a set.
Just my opinion, in Chicago.

Believe it or not, iv actually sold stuff, but I won't sell until I have a set anymore. I get way more for sets. Used to get .25 a piece for chisockets but for a set, I'd put $10 on it and take 8. Sold them all no problem. Quite a bit more for US.

Best way to get rid of them, I've found, is sell them as a lot. Not all at once, but make a deal like ten bucks for ten sockets, or whatever price/quantity you want. I use this same deal with anything I have lots of, that I want to get rid of.

But you have to find what the magic numbers are, that makes someone want to buy several pieces, at a decent deal. It's often difficult (of takes too long) to find enough people to buy them one at a time, and get rid of them relatively quickly. The objective is to get rid of them quickly, so you don't have to keep moving them around.

I have no idea about pawn shops or flea markets but have been recently selling a bunch of sockets on eBay. Its been my experience that good USA tool truck sockets have been selling for about $3-$5 per socket for smallish sizes and $5-$8 per socket for larger sizes. Specialty sockets have sold for $10 to $40 each depending on what it was. Most of this was Snap On but some Mac and S-K as well. Shipping is on top of this and can add $1 or more per socket. If you're selling Snap On for $0.25 to $0.50 each shoot me a pm and I'll buy everything you've got LOL. Seriously I hope this helps... Good luck!

Oh, I should clarify that this has been mostly for matched sets or at least lots of 5 or more similar sockets. Probably would expect less for mismatched items.
