Looking for a good solution for standard sockets (not impact) at work. We share tools with many folks and things inevitably become a jumble drawer full of sockets. I'm looking for the easiest to read sockets so that they are easier to re-organize. From my searches here, looks like socket labels don't last. Craftsman laser etched looks like one option, any recommendations for others?

Here is a

VERY SIMILAR (RECENT) THREAD

regarding easy-to-read sockets. Go with any of them if they're shared tools and are inevitably going to be abused/lost/stolen/etc. I would invite some Hansen style socket trays to the party as well, as they are the closest thing to idiot proof that I know of.

Thanks- very helpful. The Wera colored sockets look good, and will try a paint pen on some of the existing sockets as well.

If they are engraved I use paint pens on the numbers and let dry. There will be paint outside of the engraving but I use a scotch pad lightly to remove the paint outside of the engraved numbers.

Ive so many off brand that are poorly labeled that long ago I learned to stick my fingertips into them to determine the size. Works for 3/8 thru 1”. Very quick way.

If you all agree on a colour code for the common sizes, then coloured heatshrink might work for a while.

Maybe there already is a colour standard for sizes, I don't know?

After struggling for years to see anything on my Williams (USA) and SK sockets, I finally switched everything over to Wera...the color coding, and easy to ready etching , makes everything a breeze.
