I am getting ready to install the soffit and fascia, i went with aluminum instead of vinyl because of the 24" overhang (didnt want sagging vinyl)..

Do i just nail f channel to the wall and then put the soffit in the channel and then nail it loosly to the sub-fascia? Then the fascia goes on over it last right????

How do i make the fancy box on the ends?

Sorry guys i have never done this befor :headscrat

Yes, nail the channel to the wall & the fascia over the face after it's in.

Not totally sure what you're asking about with "boxing the ends" but here's a sketch of what I've sometimes done at the end of the soffit at the building corner.

Facia overhangs (hangs below) soffit level to act as a drip edge.

Trim pieces (J or F channel, usually F IIRC) go against house and facia sides, soffit slides into the groove formed by the trim.

+1 on the mitered corners 'boxed in' with back-to-back trim pieces.

Remember to allow for attic ventilation (perf soffit or you have to go back and cut out openings and then install vents). Remember to put the attic channel pieces in so that insulation doesn't block the soffit vents.
