Soffit baffles/rafter vents

Anyone use this kind: Berger Accuvent
I like that it is the soffit barrier and vent all in one. Wondering how well it'll hold up being installed in the winter - cold temps and flexing plastic usually dont mix.
The foam vents these days are cheap as chit (thin) and I don't wanna install two seperate pieces (foam vent and the cardboard style soffit barrier).
I know some folks use the foam style vent and simply wedge a hunk of fiberglass in to close up the soffit opening.
I'm leaning towards blown in for the cieling insulation, otherwise I'd just put vents up and push the batts up against.

I wish I could have found those when I did mine.
I had to use two separate pieces, the foam baffle and the cardboard cap that blocked off the rafter bay at the bottom of it.
The ones you have linked look like a good solution.

I would have used them too. May contract to have them put in the house. We've got 10~12" of blown in the house but thermal imaging shows the plates to be rather cold. Fiberglass "works" but is still subject to wind washing. If you didn't use radiant barrier decking, you could also take the radiant foil and install between the rafter bays, looping at the end and stapled to the top plate.

Just paid good money to have the house analyzed - blower door, duct test, thermal. Learned a hell of a lot.

Accuvent was recommended by Dr. Joe Lstiburek in his article A Crash Course in
Roof Venting as a pre-fab alternative to site built. Note the comment about sealing both versions.

The Accuvents look easy to install in a truss roof, but look like a royal pain to install in a stick built roof, especially if it's a retrofit. The drawing in Lstiburek's article conveniently only shows the "easy side" of the stick built install.

I just got some from HD,but they look different than the ones you linked to.They do have the vent block and are still very flexible in the cold.I can get a pic when I get home if you want.

I'll be installing in trussed construction, with full access to topplate/soffit area (no interior sheathing)

Heres the ones I bought.The black ones do look a little better but I didnt see them at my HD.

yeah, my store has those in stock. They sure felt flimsy tho.... was thinking that staples would rip right through.
Locally they dont stock the Berger units, I'd have to special order but free shipping so that's a plus.

I just looked at the dimensions on the black ones.Are they wide enough for a truss setup? Assuming your trusses are 4' OC.I'm using two(obviously)of the other style and they fit pretty tight.They do rip if the the foam isnt down tight to the surface your stapling to.I'm stapling down in the "pocket",right to the 2 by perlin.

White ones, 23-1/2 x 2 = 47"

Black ones, 22 x 2 = 44" (thats about a 2-1/2" gap? Lot of foam sealer?)
