How much weight can I hang from the 14" plywood I-beams I have for ceiling joists? I plan on putting an LCD TV, a stereo and speakers and lightweight storage such as car interior parts in there. My plan is to screw a 2x6 widthwise across my ceiling attaching to the joists which run front to rear. The soffit down supports would attach to this 2x6 just like Scott did in his build. The I-beams are made for compression, but how much tension can they take?
