Soffit LED strip lighting

Does anyone have experience with adding LED strip lighting to the underside of the eaves on the soffit?

I have searched with little success.

I want lights out side my shop. My thoughts were to add a strips across the bottom of the soffit instead of cutting in can lights or hanging exterior fixtures on the wall.

The only con I can think of is it is not directional lighting, as a can light would shine down.

A bonus would be if you got multi-color they could double as holiday lights.

Any thoughts, comments, opinions, or experience?

I was in Costco the other day and they had exactly what you’re asking for - LED strip lighting in multi colors. Not sure if they had a white light option but I bought something similar from there a few years ago to put under the cabinets over my workbench and l have several light options all controlled by a remote.
