I've been needing a soft face plastic style hammer for a while. Recent SYWR dictate the time is right. Which one would you recommend? Price is basically the same. I do have a standard black rubber mallet.

I like this one due to number of tips 4 included and easily replaceable tips, replacement tips expensive?

I like this one for the traditional metal and wood style construction. Only 2 tips, but replacements are pretty cheap.

The first one is made by Nupla... Not sure about the second one. Can't say much other than I've held the Gedore version in my hand... I ended up returning it and I have a Wiha soft face deadblow on the way.

zkiling, I got both plus the HF 4 tip. The HF 4 tip is not as precise on the threads (just a little slop play until tightened and the rubber cast seams aren't AS clean as Cman), but it functions all the same. I use both and can not tell the difference. They both feel like they want to break; obviously they don't if you're using them correctly.

The wood handle one feels 100x better. I'd recommend stretching your dollar by getting the HF 4 tip and the Cman wood handle. Best of both worlds.

And I THINK the HF one has lifetime trade in...I KNOW the Cman 4 tip does...do not have to buy tips unless you lose them. Just take hammer and 4 tips back to get new is what they told me.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I ended up going with the 4 tip. Although I'm not a fan of rubber, plastic and fiberglass tools. I felt the numerous tips and overall weight balance to face size of this one was good for what I do. The faces are the same size in diameter as the fixed wood metal hammer I posted. But the 4 tip version seems much more balanced for control. The fixed red/yellow larger (12oz, posted) one seems pretty hefty for light work and the smaller (6oz?) red/yellow variant seemed pretty small and light weight. This felt like a good compromise. We shall see. Yes, the sales associate did look at me strange while I was randomly swinging hammers in the isle. If I find a sale on the other one I might pick it up depending on how this one turns out. The durometer between all 6 faces seemed different. :dunno:

Thanks again for the input
