Sometimes we take things for granted and we grab the tool at hand and start working without ever thinking too much about how the tool came to be made in the first place.
The principal is an easy concept a soft sided hammer, that will not mar whatever you are working on.
Three men get all the credit for this simple idea that most of us use on a daily or weekly basis; they are Walter K. Iahn of Beverly Hills, Joseph A. Carmein, of Los Angels, and John E. Mullings, of Pacific Palisades, Calf.
The hammer was assigned to New Plastic Corporation, Los Angeles, Calf.,a corporation of California. Application on March the 12th,1946, Serial No. 653,792.
The patented Date was on June the 24th, 1952 for patent No. 2,601,294; interesting to note that a full 6 years had past from the time of the filing date to the patent date.
I have a few links for you to look over and a few pictures of this simple tool we take for granted in are every day work.
