Softball wiring question

Softball meaning easy. Not related at all to the sport of softball.

I'm insulating my detached garage ceiling, so figured it'd be a great time to correctly route and staple all my wires. See attached pic- orange is cable wire and grey is main power (done by real elecrician) through garage. They should be fine as I didn't do either. Is it ok to have my romex just laying on top of joists? Should I staple? Can I tie wrap or otherwise anchor ro main cable? If I need to staple I'd have to move them away from the corner as I have no room. Also for the 14/2 that runs up the joists i just turned the corner there and stapled. Is that ok? Thanks for any help.

in my local, wires that are not subject to being damaged can lay loose

Those look like they were fished to me.

They can lay on top of the joists. Just make sure they aren't in a position to get damaged, that 14/2 on the right hand side of the photo is borderline close to getting pulled into the pinch point of the truss. I'd throw a staple on that or put a block of scrap on the truss just to make sure a bad thing doesn't happen.

You guys are super helpful thank you. I did add a staple to make sure that wire was away from the pinch point.

I got a new one - I purposely didn't run wires along my top plate (the plate running parallel to the joists) because I thought you weren't supposed to, and I stapled my romex to the side of the top plate. Now that I've done that and thought about it, that won't work at all because that's where the drywell ceiling is going to go. So I'm back to running them along the top plate. Is there a better way to do this besides stapling to the top plate?

My original wiring ran across the side of the top plate as well.

Before I finished the walls, I ripped out mostly everything and ran the applicable circuits across the top of the top plate, before coming down the studs.

Few staples and spray foam the holes.
