Can anyone recommend reliable solar LED path lights? The multi-packs on Amazon for 40 bucks seem like they will get the job done, but long term reliability in hot/cold temperatures :dunno:

Anyone know of a proven product?

I was tasked with 'find solar path lights for grandpa for Christmas' last year.

He got a knife sharpener.

I could never find units that were worth a ****. Plastic, disposable, dim, short life...replace once a year.....Be interested to hear if they are out there.

Nothing branded as GE. I have had good luck with Moonrays stuff. I have had (8) of their "cracked glass" color change LED solar globes. 3 are over 6 years old, the rest are a little newer. I have only thrown away (2), and those were ones I accidentally broke. Open them up, clean the contacts, put in a new battery every spring and good to go...

We picked up a half dozen of those metal ones at (don't laugh) Walmart back in the spring. I think they were around 3 bucks each or something... I figured I'd try them. So far so good. I'm surprised at how good they look and the wife likes them as well. They have a fluted glass lens and a faux antique bronze finish. This time of year they last until about 2-3 AM with the one closest to the house burning out sooner (less sun). You couldn't read from them but there is enough light to illuminate the path enough to get to the door. They have a warm light too which was a must for me. I hate blue landscaping lights.
