I just purchased a 20 foot shipping container to store a small tractor. This is on property that I will eventually build my new shop and home on later this year. The inside of the container is painted white and I was thinking a small solar panel, lawnmower type battery and some leds? Looking for simple, low cost options. I wont be working in this thing, just want to be able to see my way around when needed. I'm open to any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Since it's only for storage, why not? You might need a couple of those HF kits but you won't need to run power or replace any bulbs.

I wired my kids treehouse with a 3 light kit that had a very small panel about 6"x6". It was meant to be garden spot/accent lights. Not enough light for a shipping container but each LED light was on a pull chain switch. This made the batteries last all night if needed.

Good luck.

Check out the solar powered landscape lighting. I bought a spotlight to mount in a lighthouse in my yard. The solar panel is about 8" square and wired to 2 separate spotlights that are pretty bright. You can mount the panel outside and run the wire to the lights inside.

My lighthouse turns on when the sun sets and is still on at 2 or 3 a.m.

Cheap too.

just thought - you would have to bypass the light sensor and install a switch.
