Anyone have the SolarGuard Foil Insulation installed? Does it work?

What I am reading online is that it is mostly snake oil and useless. If my installer wants to 'toss' it in, can I use it as a vapor barrier? I don't think I can because it is perforated.

I had planned to put rigid foam in the walls and sealing those with some spray foam + tape, then fiberglass on top of that before the finished wall.

Will this radiant barrier cause issues with this?

What about the 'attic' or roof? I have planned to put in blown in insulation, can I do that with it? So many questions.

Looks to be a fiberglass blanket just with a reflective side. If you weren't going to do anything else I would say go for it to help limit sweating (assuming this is a metal building). But otherwise it may just be something that gets in the way with what you have planned. I used Microfoil on my barn, which is reflective and a vaporbarrier, but no R value though it does prevent condensation inside and keeps it cooler in the summer.

I had it installed in my pole barn to prevent sweating, but I'm in Texas where vapor barriers are on the outside of the walls. You will want to find out if vapor barriers are on the inside or the outside of the walls where you live. If the VB is on the inside where you live, I wouldn't bother with it.

It is basically worthless as insulation because it is so compacted there are no air pockets to provide the insulating value. It does help seal up wind drafts however and the reflective side helped keep the inside of the building somewhat cooler in the summer months, though only by about 10 degrees. But again that is when used on the outside of the wall, right under the metal.
