I make lots of things, but so far lamps have been the most enjoyable and the best supplemental income. Some day I'd like to have a storefront, but Etsy works ok for now.

Sold this one today:

I buy all sorts of small things. Mixing bowls, old sockets, flashlights, tripods, valve handles, etc, etc. Eventually I have enough things stockpiled, and I crack out two or three in about an hour. I just really enjoy it, and it pays for itself. Right now, every dollar counts. If I can't find a job, I'll make a job.

Thats frikkin awesome.
Honestly when I read 'lamp' I immediately thought of an illuminated leg, like A Christmas Story.

I didn't know they made Edison bulbs that long!

That looks great. How did you attach the lamp socket?

I'm building a lamp out of an old fire extinguisher and some gas pipe - Just gathering ideas on how to mount the lamp base/sockets.

Where did you get that lightbulb?

I've never seen one like that.

I have lamps like that beside a bathroom sink/mirror in a apartment building built in the early '40s. Deco stuff. I have to get them from an electrical supply house, and they are not inexpensive. They are called "show case bulbs."
