GRINDER AND STAND ARE SOLD
In my ongoing effort to free up space I have decided to move this grinder along. It was manufactured by United States Electrical Tool Company in Cincinnati Ohio. I’m guessing it was manufactured in the early to mid 20th century. It currently has 10” X 1-1/4” wheels – although one has been worn down significantly Serial # is 438119. It has a 3 phase, 220 volt, 2.7 amps motor. The amps seem to indicate ¾ HP but the catalog shows this model as 1 HP.
The Good – motor runs and I can demonstrate, solid cast iron construction with no visible cracks or breaks, appears that the water cup is original.
The Bad – tool rests missing, eye shields missing, right side outer guard missing but it has a well executed shop made replacement, switch is bad – no continuity across terminals, likely motor needs bearings, needs cosmetic love.
In my mind this is a great candidate for full restoration. I would like to get $175 for it but am open to reasonable offers. Keep in mind the pedestal itself is likely worth more than the asking price.
I have a spare VFD that would run this machine off of single phase power – VFD would be extra but reasonable.
Thanks for looking
