I have just had my old concrete ground down, leveled and polished. there are numerous color variations typical of concrete. I HAD epoxy before and like the solid color but I weld alot and epoxy burns too easy. So I am looking for a product like a dye that can penetrate down into the concrete. I would like to apply a densifier but would like to dye it first to try to get color consistent IF possible.

Any product you know of that can make a solid consistent color that isnt like a paint that can peel off??

True dyes and stains will never have a consistent color like a coating does. They all react differently to the density and porosity of the concrete. Acetone dyes can provide a more consistent color, but again, it's not like a coating.

Also, dyes and stains are dull and lifeless after application. Some would even say ugly. They require a clear coating to wet out the stain and make the color pop. Applying a penetrating sealer such as a densifier or similar product will not do that. They will initially make the color pop when the application process wets out the concrete, but the stain will gain the lifeless and dull color back once the sealer penetrates into the concrete and dries.

Also, beware of the home improvement DIY products that claim a solid color dye. This product from Behr is an example. They are just a very thin acrylic coating that is tinted and can scratch and peel up after application.
