Saw another thread somewhat related to mine except i dont have the same situation as him.
Backfilled perforated pvc pipe wrapped with filter paper and 57 stone from the base of my building out 12" rate of fall is 1 inch every 10 feet. At the very back end I have my gutter downspout from that downspout is where I need some advice. I wanted to run it into the pvc then along the back gable wall and into day light.
From the gutter downspout inlet to daylight, should I use perforated pvc or solid pipe? Planning on doing the same rate of fall for the back side but now that rain water is entering the pipe would it be too much and start draining from the holes back out or should I just use solid pipe?drain 1.jpg

Mine is all solid to daylight. Keep it solid at first and then either solid or perf at the end, either would work. I recommend actual PVC pipe, not the corrugated stuff

I was always told that pvc with holes was for french drains, solid pvc was for downspouts.
Also agree with above comment that corrugated isn't the best for downspouts due to the amount of debris that comes from the gutters catching in the corrugations and eventually clogging.

CD has it 100% correct.
That’s how I did it at my house to cure ponding near the garage foundation and have had zero problems since.

Thanks guys yeah that's what I figured you'd all say. Definitely using PVC for this. From the looks of the perforated pipe there's only about a inch between the bottom of the pipe and the weep holes.

Mine too. I left it solid all the way. I'll be running heat tape in them too...gotta keep them flowing when the thaws come.

There are different types of perforated pipe too, small slotted holes all over and large holes on one side. I used solid pipe out about 8-10' and then large hole perforated for about 10-15' with the holes facing down buried in 57 stone.
