If you don't mind what did you have before?

thanks for your time

James

I had a Modis. I still have it. The Modis is a snail compared to this thing! The Edge is a little smaller, much lighter and way faster! I kept my Modis because it has a scope, the edge doesn't. Even thou I very rarely use a scope.

I saw one today on the snappy truck. One look told me it was too rich for my blood.
:-(
My ultra is updated and paid for; the main improvement is it's slim and wireless

Is the Solus Edge faster than the Modis Ultra? I'm wondering if they are using the same processor?

I don't know how fast the Modis Ultra is as I only own the regular Modis but I can tell you that the Edge is VERY quick.

Did I miss something here... how much too much is it? Not that I can afford one, just curious.

$4000+ probably. Not sure if this is replacing or competing with the Solus Ultra which itself is priced at $3900 (list). Seems to just be a platform update (bigger screen/faster processing). Snap-Ons getting a little ridiculous though considering they still haven't worked all the kinks out of the Ultra yet to be dumping yet another tool out there.

Apples to Oranges, You pay Snap-On scan-tool prices for their troubleshooter and long term updates (service life roughly 8-10 years). For a full time shop guy its worth the premium.

The Edge looks really nice. How much do these generally cost per month without a trade in?

If you buy new are they fully updated?

In a few months they will release new update I would recommend getting it then

I have been using the ultra since it came out and it has been great for me I use it more on USA/Asian vehicle where the launch is better for euro imo

And work out a deal if you can to include euro most dealers will do this for you since you are dropping a lot on scanner

Usually $45 a week. I can get a Modis ultra with euro for 5300. Verus q10 is cheaper now

The Snap-on Solus has always been an awesome tool. Every hardware upgrade has been awesome. I sold a ton of them when I was a dealer and kept one when I checked in.

My snappy guys got one on sale for 2400. Are they trying to blow these out for the next latest upgrade? I'm on the fence about it. Anyone have experience with the sure track software? Sounds interesting.

How do you like it so far? This one has euro also. I spend years in the Indy shops as a euro tech, now I'm at a vw dealership taking care on the used car department. Lots of domestic, Asian and euro, just looking for something all around. I have a Bosch kts and vag com for the euro stuff.
