hi every one, i recently gathered enough green$ to purchase a solus pro 8.2 believing that it had more bi-directional testing than it has. how disappointing that it only tests for evap leaks and thats it. tried to do a trans adaptive relearn and its not supported. this is for testing my 2000 ford explorer. does anybody know if the upgrade to bundle 11.4 will support more testing on my explorer? appreciating the response in advance. happy new year!

Call Snap-on diagnostics at 800-424-7226 and talk to tech support. If you give them the specific vehicle you have in question, they should be able to tell you what bi-directional tests are available.

You can also try asking your question on these forums... http://www.askatech.com/askatechlive/index.aspx

thnx for the responses on the solus pro i haven't heard from snap on support yet but i did manage to find my local snap on dealer and he informed me how pricy it will be to do the upgrades, but he also said when i do come up with the money to give him a call and he'll work with me on it stating that many many more tests and info come with 11.4 and its worth it. i sure would luv to be able to turn off an injector to monitor cylinder contribution!

Updating a solus pro from 8.4 to 11.4 should be $999. If you can hold out until March, you can get 12.2 for the same price.

just learned from off the snap on forums that solus and solus pro cards aren't interchangeable and that the update card is specific to that serial # only. hmmmmmmmm. found in the scantool capabilities section. thnx again guys!

I test drove a Verus and a Modis.

I was very unimpressed by the coverage and moreso when I called Snap-On diagnostics and the guy on the phone told me to talk to my dealer.

I was kinda surprised they weren't more helpful in getting my $ out of my pockets and into theirs.
