I just used a piece of 1x1 angle.
Need to redo it so they sit below the table top.

Interesting style of hanger, looks like it would be in the way on the welding bench, but seems sensible for storage. I’m partial to the hang by the guard off the table method we see a bunch here on GJ. I think something like this may make more sense our in the field, since it’s magnetic it would keep your grinder off the ground out of the mud.

That looks awesome as well, would be nice for tungsten touch ups as well! The "Deluxe" one I posted seems nice to me for grab and bring to the job grinder, disc's, wrenches/tools in 1 go. I would add the cord wrap of the simpler one if I needed that style. My table will have metal peg board (already purchased) so I will fashion one similar to the others shared on this board countless times. The posted ones I figure would be great for trailer (type/like) and other big work. Grab use move, wash rince repeat. Harry

Grinding makes a mess....steel & carbide dust all over the place. This magnet will attract enough dust to cover it completely. This sure looks cool as shown, but I cannot see how this is a realistic solution to anything.

Same reason I don’t get tape measures with magnets on the end of the blade. Magnets sure are handy but like you said they just make a mess. I tend to just leave my grinder just sitting on the table at all times.

That's more or less what I built. Easy, functional and cheap

I'm re-thinking that magnetic base device. No, I still hate the magnet, but if the base was replaced with a 5/8" stud, it would fit into a clamp hole in the tabletop and I bet the moment angle of the grinder's weight on the stand would lock the pin in place...same way that a clamp works. Might tip a little, but that would only serve to help hold the stud in place.

I posted this not so much for the welding table directly, but for the more mobile (usually not yet mobile) or too big for the table projects and I'm sure most on this particular sub forum (fab & tech) have something magnetic compatible near their weld tables/bench to shelter some of the clingy spray from the magnet. The other stud idea is a winner too, this was more of a seed than a finished idea, but works either way from my perspective. I don't see this as a great idea for some but some will benefit from ideas like this and others. I will use a more permanent solution for my weld table and I'm also working on a mobile solution as well and I will steal (uhm...borrow) from a combination of the GJ's best and these as well. Harry

Old trick for magnetic things in the fab shop is Saran wrap or a baggie on it before you break it out.

I have one similar to this. I put packing tape over the magnets. It has eight 1" magnets on flat bar that swivel so it works on pipe or it will sit on a flat surface
