Its been awhile since I have posted a picture up of what I have found in my shed. The story behind it is, I bought an acreage and the shed on it that I am cleaning out and gonna turn into my shop was stacked from floor to ceiling and front to back. Here is the latest find out of it and some of them are very very cool.

So, when are you going to pack up your treasures and head out to the next episode of 'Antiques Roadshow'? I've got a feeling that you'll be pleasantly surprised when you get an honest appraisal. By the way, don't clean them up at all; people pay big bucks for the 'original patina'. Good luck!

I was thinking the same thing, or "American Pickers" and let them come to you. I noticed the tin monkey says "Germany" not "West Germany" which could date it to before WWII. Good stuff

And are you sitting down?

I got some news for you, they are BIG $$$:

i've done a research at the german ebay website (i am a german):

The monkey goes for about (he's at least asking that much and he probably knows the value) 355 Euro (450 - 500$)

Do some more research and contact some collectors (internet forums for tin toys would be your best bet)

Is the spring on the donkey and cart in good shape or is it broke? I see it looks unwound in the one pic.

In regards to the Pawn Star remark, you may want to send an e-mail to Johnny that runs the toy shop down the road from Pawn Stars. He seems like he is really fair on a lot of his estimates.

>Go out to Vegas and get yourself an appearance on Pawn Stars. lol

Why would we want him to get ripped off - better to shop the collector market.

Stay away from pawn shops!!!

really sweet finds, I would love to buy an old place and get to rummage through it like that!!

in remark to the Johnny character, he is one of the FEW on that show I would trust, along with the gun and museum guys, no one associated with a pawn shop in any way though...

Go on pawn stars, get a free appraisal and TV time and the decide you don't want to sell...

Actually I think they pay too much for some of the stuff on that show. I think they do that because they don't want to seem like they are ripping people off. Why in the world would they have the appraisal done in front of the person and tell them it's worth $3000 when the person originally was asking for $300

I love the show but it's just not real

nice find , all thoseshows are fake, only good thing about them is it shows people that theres value in junk, and i say that respectivly, years ago it was a throw away world now people are not so quick to throw away.

Well, on the flip side though... There still is a fair amount of junk that people think is near-priceless... But yeah, it never hurts to do a quick online search of something before you decide to get rid of it...

I have to say, after cleaning out my late grandfathers house, value was found in some places I would never have expected (and not in some places I would have). No accounting for what some people collect or what they will pay. Reference the 'Craigslist' prices for some 20 year old makita rechargeable tools and old rusty anvils. :headscrat
