Bought a Black & Decker laser light leveler (BDL100AV) on clearance for $5 and browsed the tool department for more clearance items. Thought I would post some pics of some things that are pretty cheap in case some of you want to check out your local Lowe's.

Ended up going back after work today to pick up another Black & Decker laser level for my brother. Snapped a few more pics of other Clearance items and........... picked up a display Dewalt DCD740C1 angle drill with battery for 25 Bucks! :bounce: Now I just have to track down a charger for it. Hopefully I can find one that won't cost as much as the clearance price of the drill :|

where is the cmt blade made, what size is it. Can't tell the teeth count either. But for a high tooth count, it is a great deal for under 20 bucks.

You can check this thread to see if your lowes has it at the clearance price. the lowes near my home had it at regular price but the one next to my work had it at the clearance price.

I went to a couple of different lowe's today. I saw a bunch of DeWalt stuff on clearance, but nothing awesome. Picked up theseKobalt 21pc bit set #0394480 $3.97
-----------

Be sure to check the landscaping area for clearance plants. I hit various stores on the regular for decent plants.Fom .50 to $5. Alot of hanging baskets and decent pots. The pots are worth it sometimes just to have for next year.

Those task force screwdrivers were 25 cents here. I ended up coming home with 39 of them. I figured I can put together a set of nut drivers from the nut driver bits I have stashed in my box and keep them in my service cart.

...then use the rest of them in literally every drawer in my house. I hate walking out to the garage to get a screwdriver.

I got a 7 in 1 a couple weeks ago for a quarter and the tool guy asked what else I was looking for. I mentioned the Kobalt tap sets and he checked all the stores in 100 miles and there were none. He pointed me to 8" dado blades in a plastic, wooden-looking box for $8. I got one and dont even own a table saw, yet. Went yesterday to look and the dados that were on clearance were now $39. Me and my kid were like wtf? They had cheap adjustable wrenches next to the 7 in 1's, also for a quarter.

I was in my Houston Lowes yesterday and couldn't believe the deals on Kobalt wrenches, sockets, and LOTS of other things. They had carts full of new stock waiting, So I think it must be model change over time.

The best deal was for the Kobalt twisted combo wrenches, I recall them being $9 down from $79! They had 30 - 66 % off on lots of stuff.

I always go thru Lowes if I have a few minutes and look at clearance. My local store used to have a whole aisle in the back. Got a new front door for my house, beautiful insulated fiberglas with a gorgeous window for $400 down from $1000! Got some Pex install tools for 10c on the dollar too.

Now I just walk the aisles I'm interested in, scanning for yellow tags.

Saves a ton of money in the long run and only takes a few minutes. Sometimes on the way back from an appointment, I hit 2 Lowes, Ikea, and 3 Home Depots in the same run. 45 minutes total for a quick scan. Takes longer if you find something to buy of course.

I think an employee buys all the clearance stuff at mine, because I've gone several times to see if any kobalt stuff is on sale, and the tags are out, but everything's gone within a day.

I bought one of the 227 piece sets on Black friday clearance for $95. 3 months later I decided to get a craftsman set so I sold the Kobalt set on CL for $140...

Apparently there is some underground network to find out when things are going to be clearanced. For example: I was looking at the Evolution Rage 3 that was marked down to ~$215. I thought about it overnight and went the next afternoon intending to buy it at $215. Overnight they had marked them down to $89 and they were all gone. Almost immediately I noticed two guys on Craigslist offering them new in box for $150. I called one of them and he had several of them NIB for sale.

How are these guys finding out about this before everyone else does and going to every store around and buying them all up?

Probably the employees who changed the price tags bought the items???

The people that do the tag changing go to work before the store opens. The person at 39 and may buys a lot of stuff.

I guess if they were going to keep it or use it it wouldn't irritate me so much.

I admit it does irritate me to see them all posted up on Craigslist though.
