Some corrugated tin up

I got one wall done. Well almost done. Then I decided to paint the other wall, then the garage door. But to do that I had to pull my Gladiator cabinets off the walls, patch the holes, now I have everything setting in the middle of the garage.

What sounds like it's going to be a simple project for me, somehow manifest itself into a major project. I have one whole wall of the Gladiator cabinets which is nine long. I have seven that I'm not sure what I'm going to do with yet. I know where I can hang two, but I don't want any behind the mill and lathe so I can keep things swept up behind there. Two I can put beside the mill. But I think I am going to change the doors around on the cabinets and maybe try to stack three high beside the workbench. That is AFTER I have to shorten the workbench down some. I honestly think I had way more room when I had my wood cabinets in.

Oh well. Here is where things are at right now.

I guess I forgot to post a pic of the front walls and garage doors. My garage computer was acting up yesterday and was slower than molasses in January. That's the bad thing with a wireless router.

I have to get **** cleaned up out there today as I can't hardly walk around there. I'll get a couple of more pics.

At first, I was kind of leery about the color due to it soaking up light. But I've come to the realization that what I want to do and what I can actually do, isn't going to happen. So I may as well paint it to where I enjoy it for what it is. If I need more light, I'll pull out the trouble lights. My mind still says I can do things, but my body reminds me of reality

I was going to put rope light underneath the rail at the top of the sheetmetal, but I have 12' rope lights. I need to see if I can find 8' ones. I don't think they make 10' which would be ideal. I'll get something figured out on that though.

As far as the Gladiator cabinets, when the big sale was on at Lowes and many members jumped on them, does anyone have any regrets for buying as many as they did? I know that I bought 18 and there were some that bought two and three times that many. Like I mentioned above, I think I had more room with my wood cabinets. Hopefully when I rearrange these, and flip some over I can utilize them better.

Check out Home Depot for the rope lights...they seem to have reasonable prices on them (I think it was Hamilton Brand...) They had some super short ones (2 feet), on up to longer ones (but I don't remember the specific sizes...just that they seemed to be a reasonable cost).

My thoughts exactly, looking like you had a designer working on it. Just where did you get your degree from?

The dark red should be good for making dust and spider webs less noticeable too. =)

Hey, if you can't turn a simple upgrade into a prolonged discombobulation project, you'd have to turn in your shop pass!

Machine Punk....I did get the lights I have at Lowes. The shortest I could find was 12'. I have a place I can use them, but I'll keep an eye out for shorter ones.

Home Depot definitely has shorter rope light. I put some up in my bathroom and I think it was a 6 foot length.

Looks like a nice clean shop. I like the metal and the. Color. As far as rope light, try the day after thanksgiving sales. I'm sure someone will have them on sale. Great job!!

Take a look here. You can cut it in 39" increments. Three of those would get you darn close to 10'.
