Our work is almost done. It leaves for the alignment shop Monday and will be getting new wheels as soon as they arrive. After that it goes to the guy for the wiring and then upholstry. You can get a pretty good idea of what it is going to look like off these photos minus the wheels and upholstry.

Nice job,I wish my 30 poncho was at that stage. Do you happen to know what front suspension went under the car and from where, I have a firebird rear but stock front. I was told a tci would go good and you don't have to modify the fenders.

That color is SICK. Car looks like it has been anodized red, not painted. Hard to watch a good resto go down (my dad restores T's) but that is one sweet ride.

OK so I havent been here for awhile and thought I would give an update on this one. We just got the car back from upholstery today. This one had a large delay due to wiring. It went to a guy the vehicle owner knew to have it wired and it got pretty boched up. We pulled ALL of the wiring out and re-did it ourselves. You want a job done right... We also got a little more in depth with a sound system install. During that process we fabricated an upper shelf and a center console. The center console has to be painted then we get to hook everything back up. That should take awhile. After that it gets its final polish and new wheels/tires installed. Done. We will probably have it till the end of this month. Here are some photos of the upholstery which was done at Dawn Chikes in Keizer OR.

Wheels and tires will be here tomorrow. This thing ships this weekend!!!!! I will get final photos and upload when the wheels are mounted. Yay!!!

The car is finally done. The hubs and rear calipers still need to be painted but that is something that the customer can do. It was a pretty fun project at times and a pain in the rear at others. I think it came out pretty cool.

Beautiful work. For those purists who think cutting up an old car to make a street rod is a bad thing...keep in mind that this was not a hugely rare or special car to begin with, and it is now. In stock form, it really was not safe (or fun) to drive around too much....it is now. And most important, in current form, if the owner wanted to drive it across the country, why not? You'd have been lucky to make it across town in the original, and a massochist to try to go much further than that.

Amen to that!!!! It's hard enough trying to cross the hi-way in front of our shop with a fast car. Trying to do it with a car with 20 horsepower would end badly

My partner/father-in-law is the metal man extrordinair. He is quite talented. I have more of a grasp of the electrical/stereo end of it. There is some major amounts of wire flowing through this thing!!!! It was in the shop 4 years. 1 year of that was at the guys house that was supposed to be wiring it. It came back from him and we tore all the wiring back out and re-wired it ourselves. Not one thing was wired correctly. I am being literal. We really felt bad for the owner since he is a really cool guy. Done now though!!!

I think the vintage logo is great as is. It would be strange to flip a logo that has a history. If it were just a graphic image of some kind and not a logo it could of be interesting to flip.


Sweet color and work. It is great to see old rides brought up to the driving needs of today and look so good doing it.

I'm pretty obsessive compulsive so having them semetrical and facing each other seemed in my mind to be correct. After thinking of it for awhile though we came up with the same conclusion as you.
