I feel some kind of sadness when I see that there is no more information about the country of origin....
You guys may noticed that already....is this mean Snap-on does not promise that the Ratchets are made in the USA?

I noticed that too... Heck some of the tools do not even say whether they are Snap-on or Bluepoint. I think a tidal shift in manufacturing location is coming. They are merely conditioning us so that we do not notice.

I'm thinking Snap-on ought'a just skip China and go straight to Africa; sooner or later the wages in China will be up there with Japan.

Man,

Be easy! I'm from China. I can tell you there are a lot of people in China think "made in USA" equals top notch quality. In that sense, they respect Americans in awe and want them to continue to thrive.

BTW, there is a law in China requiring all products to be marked by where it is produced. For example, I would expect most Snap on tools marked by "Made in Kenosha, WI" if this is the case in China. And if some of the Snap on tools are made in Crystal Lake, IL, they need to be marked as "Made in Crystal Lake, IL".

Wouldn't you rather have the ratchets made in your country so you can take all the credit? :D

There's no such thing as "made with pride" anymore, except for a few die-hard Germans. :D

Most of the auto workers in German are now imported from country's such as Poland, since the German worker doesn't want to work as hard as in the past. One more effect of socialism government programs.

How does that work exactly? If they're not allowed to own the property the facility is sitting on, do they pay lease payments to the Chinese Government? :headscrat

I am not sure exactly how that works, but at the end of the day it will still be cheaper.

As far as everything needing to be stamped 'Made in China" I wonder if the final assembly is done elsewhere if they can get around that. Its sad, Snap on has always been my go to brand. The quality is excellent and the fact that I could help in my own small way to keeping manufacturing jobs in the USA always made me happy.
