The garage is coming along nicely.

Previously I put a refrigerator in the garage and it was still feeling a bit empty, and I was sick of going inside to do stuff on the computer.

So...

I put a computer in there, wired the sound into the soundsystem and hooked it up to my wireless network

I had also always been sick of being in bed at 11PM wondering if I shut the garage doors.....So I hooked up a webcam and now I can see if I left the lights on or the doors open at any time without having to go down there.

There's a pic from the webcam of yours truely.

So now I can surf the net, IM my friends, listen to MP3s, watch movies and drink cold beer in the garage. This computer is really going to help when it comes to technical questions while working on my car.

Great ideas and good looking garage. Love the Z, or ZX rather. Do you have any other pictures of it? (Sorry to take focus from your garage, but I'm a big Z fan)

Sounds just like me! In my previous garage I had all those things too. (Yup, even the fridge, beer & webcam) Being able to surf while in the garage is a big plus. To be able to lookup parts, wiring diagrams, surf forums for quick answers is soooooooo nice. My garage PC was also my media fileserver, which means I had it loaded with high capacity hard drives and high speed fans which kept the noise and such away from the quieter areas of the house. Tends to be the cleanest of all my computers because the compressed air is right there. Just put those gigs of MP3s on random play and get to work! I could also watch cable TV on the PC through the network. Another PC I have has a tuner card in it and running SageTV DVR software which lets you stream live TV to any computer on your network. Great for catching the news while working, or weather channel updates before running to the carshows.

I can't wait to get everything back in my new garage!

Anyhow, Your shop looks nice!

How's the guy from Holland doing? Sorry, can't remember his name 'cause I haven't been on the Z car forums in quite a while.

Scott, you got it! You were the guy who sold us the louvers right?

Not quite sure what's up with Frank lately, seems he's having problems with selling parts and not following up on the shipments in a reasonable time....Nice guy, just not a reputable seller I guess.

You still driving a Z?

Yup. Met you guys in Albert Lea. Sorry to hear that about Frank. Seemed like a stand up guy to me.

Nope, sold the '82 about two years ago to a guy from Kentucky. He was one happy camper when he took possession of the car. I still have all of the parts (engine, diff, wiring, misc.) from an '82 ZXT that I parted out though. Just need to find the right 240Z worthy of a 3.1 turbo stroker build up.

Hope all is going well with you.

Later,

Scott

Yup, I did the same thing - this is my "retirement office" in the garage; spend most of my time out here, with most of the comforts of home.
