Picked these up today at my friendly antique store.Last summer I found myself in need of a flaring tool and the one I normally use had the most important part MIA so I had to borrow one. Today I found a really nice and unusual(to me anyway) one.
Made by the Imperial Brass Co of Chicago Illinois,it will service pipe from 3/16ths to 5/8ths of an inch in diameter. To lock the pipe in place a screw on the end loosens and the handle flips 90 degrees;allowing the jaws that slide in a track to open.Insert the pipe and fold the handle back and tighten.
The flaring point is not smooth but rather almost faceted. The top handle when after having made the flare releases by turning 360 degrees before starting to unscrew;apparently allowing pressure off the flare.
One of the tack hammers has a tack lifter on the end of the handle and opposite the head.No makers name on it and it looks pretty old.Price for all three pieces was$12.50.

Top quality flaring tool, love all my Imperial stuff. Is that a 45 degree tool, almost looks like a 37 degree?

Op very nice would you have any more information about the company History for us to look at ?

I haven't gotten into that yet but I did look up the model no. of the tool and they are still for sale;albeit a slightly newer model(507BF). They range in price from about $89 to about $115 so I guess I got a good deal. The only difference I can see is that parts of the newer model are coated with black(maybe passivate).
