i've decided to finally make a thread to showcase a few things i have done. i am no pro by any means, and i haven't been doing this forever or with the big and bad tools, but it works for what i want/need

i designed this coolant filler neck/coolant temp sensor port off of the original that came on a VW 1.8T motor which was made out of plastic. had a friend turn the pieces on a lathe and mill, i tigged it up and polished it all out

tacked up my 3" 304ss downpipe for the same car along with wideband o2 bung...need more practice tigging stainless before finish welding that

built a set of zoomies for that same friend. its a funny car chassis with 532ci big block with 871 blower, alcohol, and power glide trans, with a Beretta body

this is the motor as a whole, along with the intercooler pipes i built and many more other custom bits that i dont currently have pictures of

custom surge tank to submerge a Bosch 044 inline fuel pump since the damn thing is so noisy

sorry for the attachements, still figuring out this type of forum format

any critisism is welcome and happy to answer any questions. many more pics to come as i get back out in the garage to take them all

What welder do you own? What's the cleaning set on? Your beads are pretty nice.

everything seen here was done with an Eastwood TIG 200, the zoomies were done with a Lincoln 140 MIG

still playing around with the settings on the machine. the TIG 200 has a "clearance effect" setting that i need to dial in for aluminum work since the chart on the box says "0 to -3", so i need to find the sweet spot within that range

i'm hoping to get back out into the garage tonight and hopefully snap some more pics for you guys

that intercooler pipe seen in the one picture was pretty rough, i think my gas coverage wasnt soo good, and it was the first real aluminum job i had tackled. i'm going to smooth and blend it, but i fear that it will be pourous, so dependent on how that goes, i may throw a fresh clean bead all the way around it tonight... pics to follow :)

Just a tip for posting photos. I would recommend uploading your photos to an image hosting site before posting on a forum. Most image hosting sites (I use Imageshack.us) give you a forum code once you upload an image, which you can copy and paste directly into your post and the image will show up. For your attached images above, copy the "Image URL" (you can click on your attachments above, right click the image, select "Copy Image URL" and type the following code in your comment box:

[IMGx]Paste Image URL[/IMGx]

Dont include the X's when you are typing it in, I only added those because otherwise it wouldn't show up.

For example:

attachment.php

Another reason why image hosting sites are convenient is you can resize the image so it's not huge like this one. I normally upload at 800x600 or 1024x768, which are common options. It's super straight forward. I can delete the photo if you want since it's so huge, just trying to show you how easy it is once you get the hang of it.
