So I called a buddy of mine that used to own the local Carquest and asked him if he had some storage cabinets the other day. He said he did so I went to his place to check them out, wound up getting a few other things he had wasting space. Got some sandpaper, Roloc discs, bondo spreaders, and 1 set of drawers all for $80. He has another set of drawers I'm going to pick up from him for another $30 when he cleans them out. Also I had an awesome metal workbench given to me from work. It. Was hog nasty from sitting in a boiler room but it cleaned up nice, I'm debating on giving it a shot of sick hospital green to make it look as nice as my vise I just got. Now I've got to start cleaning the shop out to make room for this booger!!!

I have a similar cabinet to that blue one for my small engine parts. It's made by Platt and Labonia (spelling??). Nice unit. Mine is gray.

I also have that same Stanley (??) cheapo rollaway in the background that you have there. I sold the bottom to an artist in Brooklyn, NY for $75 and I couldn't pass up that deal even though I "broke up the set". I still have the top cabinet.

I remember getting it for free because I fixed my mailman's snowblower for him.

I used to have 6 of the multi drawer cabinets, I emptied them when I got my equipto cabinets. I sold 3 of them for 80.00 each, I stored the rest down in the barn being I couldn't sell them. Rich

That cheap thing was given to me by an exgirlfriend when I built my shop. I've hated it since day one. I had my Craftsman stack ordered when she bought it, I mean it was a nice gesture and all and while we were dating I did sorta use it. But that chick screwed me over in the long run so it was kind of a bad reminder.

But then my nephew took to working with me for awhile so I pulled that **** box out of the back of the shop, cleaned it up. Then I went through my stuff and got some of my doubles plus those cheesy, cheap tools people get you for Christmas because they know you work on cars..... you know those tools, I use them for loaners..... But I also stopped at Harbor Freight bought him some decent screwdrivers and sockets. Then he came to the shop to help me one day and saw the box was pulled out and cleaned up, I told him that was his and everything in it was his.

Needless to say it made a then 15 year olds day. So now that he is in college and in the National Guard while also holding down a steady job, when I see that box and I don't see the **** box an ex gave me, I see the box of a fine young man that I helped mold and I am very proud of. Just don't let him know that! Don't want his head swelling or nothing......

I guess when he comes in for Christmas he's going to take it home with him, which I'm glad because that's what I did it for and I think when he goes through it he might see there are some new things that have been added.........

Sounds like a good kid. My nephews (in their teens and 20s) have no interest in working on things like I did at their age (and younger)....

Here is my P&L box that as noted is used for the small engine parts...it was getting tossed out at my old job so I grabbed it.

He is an awesome kid! He can make me shake my head at times, but I blame that on young and dumb lol.

I dig the handle on that drawer! You can actually grab it and not worry about it cutting your hand in half lol and for free!? Yeah I'd be happy!

Nice workbench man and for free I have to say that you ****. +1 on the paint i think that'll turn into a sweet bench.

I was beginning to wonder if there was any suckage on that! I mean yeah sure it's not as heavy as I would like but with metal prices today I believe I would be out at least $400-$500 in materials plus me having to build the thing lol!

I'm studying on bothering to paint the top at all or strip it to bare metal or paint it. All have their drawbacks so we'll see. Be expecting a thread soon on my shop cleanup and reorganization.

How come you couldn't sell them? They get almost $80 just for the rack without the bins at Fastenal, even with the discount. If you were closer I would gladly take those off your hands if they were in good shape.
