Some questions about those with race-deck type floorings...

I've got a few inconsistencies in my garage floor/walls and I'm curious if there is a way to deal with these while using a racedeck type flooring:

1-I'm pretty sure my walls are uneven and I would have to cut any tiles I put down to fit to the edge of the wall...is there a way to hide the cut so it's not visable? Like a trim piece that goes against the wall?

2-I've got about a half inch rise/ledge in my concrete on the far side of the garage that comes out form the wall about 4 inches. Is there a way to work around this and still keep the flooring looking clean?

3-How do these floors react to pulling a wet car in? Do they drain ok? As of now I've got my weekend car that never sees rain in there as well as my commuter car that gets pulled in after a big thuderstorm all the time! Ever have any issues with bugs living under thise stuff?

4-While I think these are a pretty cool products I've also been consiering having epoxy professionally done...I just don't want to end up pulling these tiles up in 10 years and taking them to the dump or something! Anyone chose epoxy over locking tiles? Are you happy with that decision?

Basically I'm looking for a pros and cons type thing from people who have actually used snap together tile floors...

1. I put down rubber baseboard that glues to the wall, a really great way to cover the gap between wall and tile. It has a curved lip at the bottom that will cover approx 1/2" gap. Flooring dept at Lowes and Home depot sell.

2. I dont know about this.

3. The racedeck helps to channel water out and enough of an air space to allow it to dry. My garage floor is angled slightly which makes water escape easier.

4. I went the opposite way, I really leaned towards epoxy for the longest time (u-coat it) never really considered professional tho. I just didn't like the toxicity of all the chemicals. Also, it's relatively easy to incorporate designs into a tile system, certainly to do the same with epoxy would be very costly and time consuming. Some guys on here have pulled up the flooring when they moved and taken it to their new home/garage.

I'm glad I went with the snap tiles, 1. you get a degree of cushion against the concrete, easier on the feet if standing for long periods. 2. damaged tiles can easily be removed/replaced 3, installation was a breeze and all told took me about 5 hours including installing the rubber base board in my 22/24ft garage.

Good luck, plenty of knowledge on this forum, best thing I ever did was stumble over here when I was beginning construction 1.5 years ago.

Thanks Chris...I didn't consider the chemical angle either.

Anybody have any input on the bug thing though? Living in the south they're all over the place and I certainly wouldn't want them to nest under there or something

My recommendation is to go with epoxy... I have no bugs and keep everything spotless but when I tore out my racedeck because I decided to go with epoxy after having it down for a year man it was FILTHY under those tiles. I don't know where half the stuff came from! I even found a few screws under there...
