Other Stuff

That is some good stuff. Thanks for the tip MAD. I was also able to get an extra 10% off today by using my Sears Card.

Those Facom chisels have been on clearance for years waiting for love. It seems like I see SK 'Palm Control' stuff on sale all over the place. I wonder if they are ending the life of that design.

In addition to the SK stuff there are a few other things that just went on clearance.

Craftsman 14 pc. Full Polish Stubby Locking Flex Ratcheting Combination Wrench Set are down to $99.97 (The lowest I have seen these is for $90 for the the 7 piece sets.)

Chicago Pneumatic Stuff:
- 1 in. Drive Impact Wrench, Heavy Duty
- 120 deg. Angle Die Grinder
- 1/4 in. Standard Duty Ratchet

Craftsman 266 pc. Mechanics Tool Set for $300. (Seems like a good deal but no one here would need this set for themselves.)

I picked up both the SK & Craftsman stubby sets. :)

I really like those Facom chisels and punches. They don't mushroom as quickly as my Craftsmans or Blackhaws...

Trying to go through all the threads I missed since yesterday.

Those are a Facom design. I don't know if SK has anymore rights to them since the Facom buyout by Stanley toolworks. SK worked very quickly to seperate themselves from Facom when the buyout happened.

Facom was made in France, although now, who knows.

What's the deal for S&K warranty? If I but these and break something (the bit sockets) do I have to mail them in for replacement?

You need to contact them to find your local warranty spot. Here we have a series of stores that "aren't connected", YEA RIGHT. (same name, type of stores, owner from what we can tell, but only one handles the warranty).

Other areas of the country may have the S&K tool trucks, or may be mail in.
See if you can find some (nonSears) type store that sells SK. They are the ones to ask.

Just this week I sent in an SK ratchet for repair or replacement. The customer service was nice. You can call or email them to get the process going. They gave me the choice of a rebuild kit, service at a local SK dealer or shipping the ratchet to them. I contacted the local SK dealer listed on their site but they claimed not to deal in SK so I sent it in.
