Some stuff from my dad

I was over at my parent's house changing the oil in my dad's Buick, and he asked me if I wanted some stuff. My dad is 79 and my mom won't let him work on the cars anymore. Dad is a retired tool & die maker, but he used to take part-time jobs as a mechanic in gas stations back in the days when gas stations had mechanics. Like a lot of depression kids, my dad learned to do a lot of things because you didn't have the money to pay somebody to do it. He was a jack-of-all-trades, and I have learned a lot from him.

Does anybody remember using these, I think he got it mid 1970's

He bought this I think about 1965 to build a garage, all steel, heavy as hell, but will still cut thru anything

Heck, I had a newer version of one of those analyzers when I was younger, like in the 80s/early 90s.

Sweet saw. I have an old B&D Sawcat (?) that I'd like to use, but one of the brushes disintegrated and I can't find replacements. :(

You have the instructions, it should not be too difficult to use. It looks to be in great shape. I would love to have it, you are lucky.

You're lucky. Back in the day, that was a great deal on an engine analyzer. I still have mine! The power tools are classics. I love the look of those Craftsman power tools.

great saw and analyzer! Its really great to get tools past on from generation to the next. I only have a couple tools from my dad...and actually a couple from my G-Pa. They are cherished! Thanks for sharing.

If you have anything that uses points (lord help you), that engine analyzer is a must-have. I have one from working on old CIS fuel injected VWs.

I am down to 2 drivers that are point cars, though I admit I have converted one of them.

So True. Good points are getting hard to find

Are the Standard Blue Streak points not what they used to be?
I used to carry a spare distributor in my trunk that was all set with new points and a condensor. That way, a bad condensor never left me stranded, and swapping the distributor was a five minute deal. Of course, real men like me ran a Prestolite cast-iron dual point distributor for maximum dwell time, baby!:lol_hitti

AWESOME saw! My dad has some of that old aluminum bodied stuff, and I love it. Honestly, todays power tools are much better, but those old tools were built with pride. I have an similar analyzer, but I usually use my more compact (and more modern) model. I swore off point years ago, along with vacuum tubes, so mine doesn't get much use anymore.
