Hey DJ, better quality, from the bearings to the wiring, armature and windings etc. Also, the HP ratings are real. What I mean by that is if you grab an import 1/2 hp and then a Baldor 1/2 hp and do the same exact test, you'll find the Baldor has a lot more balls. Imports and cheaper motors exaggerate their numbers.

Baldors last a hell of a long time, buttery smooth, and powerful.
