Hopefully I'm not breaking any forum rules. I'm looking for a drill press and found this converted Shop Smith. The guy needs it gone now! I just texted him and it's till available. Maybe you can grab it tomorrow. $100, with a box of accessories and it looks pretty clean. I know how he feels, because I've given stuff away lately, just to clear out, but not a press like this. I just don't have the floor space for this, or I'd grab it.

That's a "greenie" that the ways were shortened. Totally worth the $100 he is asking. If I didn't have two 10ERs i'd be very interested in that one!

You can buy those things around here for $250 all day long. And in my experience, they aren't worth much more than that. I have one with a ton of accessories that I inherited many years ago.

I've tried to use it, but things just seem to slip out of alignment so easily that I just can't seem to get good work out of it. I suppose if you have a bunch of time to make sure everything is set, they are good machines - the motor on the one I have is very powerful. It's just not the kind of thing I like much.
