Found this great table up for auction.

Metal Bench with 3 3/8" Thick Top, 5 1/2" Diameter Removable Legs, Approx 91 1/2"x48"x34" and 5,000 lbs.

I couldn't even begin to imagine what the freight charges are going to be for moving that thing to wherever it's going.

Well not so good of a deal after all $405 was the ending bid. when I posted it was at $36.00

heavy scrap is 6 cents a Lb right now, thats 300 bucks, plus you need to move it, somebody got a deal

Even $405 sounds cheap for what it is.
But... I have to admit, I'm wracking my brain trying to think up a good use for it.

It would make a good welding bench, but you certainly don't need a top that thick.

If I had the room I would have bought it for a fixtureing table, the heavy top would have been perfect for larger weldments. Once clamped in place nothing would have moved.

Kind of glad that I don't have the room.

I found 3 1/2" steel plate going for $380 a square foot. That would be a very expensive table to build new.
