I live 20 minutes away, but I'm not really into big welding...that said, I can't even imagine how much that thing must weigh...

Humm. I'll have to pass that along to a couple people I know. With the stipulation of "hey you might be interested in this, No I'm not helping you move it!"

Dang, I wonder how much that thing weighs, or how the heck would you move it.

You almost could cut it up and make a bunch of anvils out of it, and sell the homemade anvils since high quality steel anvils have skyrocket in price the last couple years.

Must....stop....looking....at....this...... :eyecrazy:

The price for what it is is ridiculously cheap. I can't even imagine what it would cost to acquire a table like that new. I had $500 in material alone in the small table I built. If only I had the space.

I bet if you were careful you could get this on a flatbed truck.

Bought it! Thanks for the heads-up. I've been looking for one of these for a long time.

We'll need pics or...well, you know the rest.

Coming from an industrial background it isn't hard to figure out how to move it. Flatbed trailer, a forklift and some 4 by 4's.

I'm estimating that it weighs between 6,000 and 8,000lbs. I've got to go down and pick it up this week.

I was curious, so I looked up what a Bobcat could do.

http://www.bobcat.com/loaders/models/

There are more models than I expected, even though I expected quite a few. The range seems to be from 700 lbs to 2000 lbs, and I'm sure you need to de-rate that quite a bit for real-life geometry.

So right! Most people don't even think of this. For instance, that welding table is wide, which will put the weight further from the pivot point on whatever machine you are using. Lets say that table weighs 6,000lbs even. If you rented a forklift with a 6k-lb capacity...you will not be able to pick it up completely without the steer tires becoming useless

Sure it would, the fork lift I drive every day is rated for 6150 pounds, I couldn't even tell you how many times I've picked up and moved 10k with it (yes things sized bigger than that table). However the rear of the truck does get light. Any more than that and you bounce when the load rocks or you hit a bump.

I'd venture a guess that my lift would pick 12k if it was sized right, anymore and you lift the rear.

It's iron, not steel.

But an AMAZING find, none the less.

The seller misrepresented the thickness, thus it was much lighter than anticipated and easier to move. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1410139255.460857.jpg
